Chartered Loss Adjuster and Chartered Insurance Practitioner Richard has worked in the insurance industry since 1985 and was previously Channel Islands Manager for two UK-based loss adjusting companies. He and wife Julie-anne founded Channel Islands Adjusters in 2004 after identifying the need for a locally based, independent adjuster in the Channel Islands. Richard specialises in major and complex property claims, liability, subsidence, Contractors’ All Risks and Latent Defects claims. Richard also holds the British Damage Management Insurance Technician qualification.

Julie-anne Headington

Julie-anne came to the insurance industry in 1990 after several years in the finance industry business and she specialises in large and complex claims. Julie-anne is dedicated to ongoing professional development and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters, a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute, and a Fellow of the Association of Accounting Technicians. In 2021, Julie-anne was awarded the UK insurance industry Women in Insurance ‘Woman of the Year’ Award (Small to Medium Firms) for her dedication to sustainability and ongoing efforts to ensure that it is at the heart of the claims process.

Josh joined our team in 2014, following seven years as a broker. Since then, he Josh has racked up an impressive list of qualifications including the Chartered Insurance Institute Diploma and the British Damage Management Association Insurance Technician qualification. Josh became a Chartered Loss Adjuster in 2019. Josh’s long service and expertise led to him joining the board as an Associate Director and Shareholder of the Company in 2022, and his commitment, dedication and expertise plays a vital role in securing the future of the Company’s position in the Channel Islands.

Ellie joined the team in 2022 with a background in customer service. Since then, Ellie has gained the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters Certificate and the British Damage Management Association Insurance Technician qualification, and is now studying to become a Chartered Loss Adjuster. Ellie is a key member of the CIA team, with her empathetic approach in dealing with policyholders at times of distress a particular skill, coupled with her keen eye for detail and rigour in adhering to our detailed and comprehensive procedures.

Operations Manager

Tracy was Richard and Julie-anne’s first employee when they expanded the business in 2014 and she joined CIA with several years’ experience in property management. Tracy’s role is vital in ensuring that our office runs smoothly, and our adjusters are supported to meet service standards. Tracy also supports Julie-anne with HR and KPIs, events, marketing and PR. Always calm under pressure, Tracy is our trained Mental Health First Aider, which is vital for our staff wellbeing.
